Certificate Transparency

C

Certificate Transparency (CT) is designed to provide greater transparency and accountability in issuing digital certificates. It requires certificate authorities (CAs) to publicly disclose all certificates they give in a public log, which anyone can audit. This allows for detecting mistakenly issued or fraudulent certificates and helps prevent certain types of cyberattacks, such as man-in-the-middle attacks. Certificate Transparency also enables domain owners to monitor and track the issuance of certificates for their domains, providing greater visibility and control over their digital identity.

ThreatNG Security is an external attack surface management, digital risk assessment, and security ratings solution that can help with certificate transparency by monitoring SSL/TLS certificates for unauthorized or fraudulent certificates, identifying potential vulnerabilities and threats associated with certificate transparency, and providing an assessment of an organization's certificate transparency practices. This can help organizations manage and secure their certificate transparency, prioritize security efforts, and protect against fraudulent certificates.
