Domain names are used for application-specific naming and addressing as well as in a variety of networking settings. A domain name often identifies a network domain or an Internet Protocol (IP) resource, such as a server computer or a personal computer used to access the Internet. Internet services like webpages and email services are frequently identified by their domain names.
